We all are quite thrilled by the idea of XUVs. These powerful vehicles are well equipped to take on rough trails and are best suited for road trips in hilly terrain as well as in snow covered regions. Where normal vehicles might get struck in the snow the XUVs always make their way. The modern day XUVs are fitted with all the modern equipment such as Bluetooth, air conditioner and navigation system etc. However when we look at their ancestors we are more awestruck. Let us take a tour into the evolution and history of vintage XUVs through this post.
The Best Classic Automobile Jeeps Of All Times
Not many of us would know the feeling when they would have first come across the classic automobiles Jeeps CJ. The vinyl interiors, sheet metal and carburetted engines take classic lovers into nostalgia. Here is a ride into the vintage era of Jeeps so stay tuned. The 1968 Ford Bronco is also a masterpiece when we talk of classic automobile XUVs.
This model has been used in several movies and television shows such as 127 Hours, Speed and Smokey, The Bandit and True Blood. The Ford 1966 Bronco was a competitor of the Jeep CJ which is the first known XUV. This off road vehicle has style as well as power.
Another XUV model which can be categorized as vintage is the 1965 to 1969 International Harvester Scout 800. This vintage automobile is one of the coolest XUV of all times. It has features like the 4,6, or 8 cylinder configuration for the engine, optional rear seats and bucket seats etc. Like the Bronco the Scout was also a competitor of the classic Jeeps. Hopping a bit forward to 1960 -84, the Toyota FJ40 is another XUV which can be classified as a classic. It looks quite similar to the modern day Mercedes G class.
Although the FJ40 is out of production since the 1984 this off road vehicle is no less than a vintage XUV or Jeep CJ. Although slightly longer in dimensions than the classic CJ the Toyota FJ was a head turner. Another strong contender in the genre of classic XUVs is the 1948 Ford F series Panel Truck. Apart from these there are several others off road vehicles meant for thrill seekers on the road which can be seen in prominent vintage automobile museums or exhibitions. Owing to their rarity vintage Jeeps are quite hard to own.
