- Sugar - 1/4 tsp
- chilli powder - one tbsp
- Salt - one tbsp
- fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - one tsp

How to prepare Chana Dal Uttapam:
Step 1) Clean the chana dal & soak in sufficient water for around four to five hrs. Assure that you include fenugreek seeds into it while soaking. When the dal is soaked finely, put it into a grinder & grind to a soft paste.
Step 2) Now, include salt, chilli powder, sugar, cumin powder, turmeric powder, soda and asafoetida to it. Combine all the components properly for the uttapam batter. Next, place a vessel over moderate gas & pour a slight oil onto it. Smear the oil properly on the vessel & spread the paste with a bowl in a circular motion.
Step 3) With a kitchen brush, use a slight oil around the edges of it & allow it to cook for one minute over a low flame. Then, spread a little coriander on the uttapam. Allow it to cook for another few seconds & when done from each end, have it with the green chutney & enjoy!
